The Hayes DOT-5.1 Hydraulic Brake Fluid is the factory fluid Hayes puts inside of their pre-bled hydraulic braking systems. This brake fluid is designed to remain viscosity-stable across a very broad temperature range, making it ideal for riders that use their bicycles the year around.

Note: This fluid is designed specifically for brake systems that require DOT-5.1 brake fluid; do not put this brake fluid into brake systems that are set up to use mineral oil, DOT-3, DOT-4, or DOT-5.0 brake fluids. Putting this brake fluid into systems that are not designed for DOT-5.1 brake fluid will result in the destruction of seals and damage to brake hoses, leading to the failure of the brakes. Please consult the hydraulic brakes owner’s manual to find out what fluid your brakes require.
