Giant SLR 1 50 Disc Road Wheels are designed for cyclists that are looking for a versatile, aerodynamic wheel. The hookless disc specific rims are made using an advanced carbon fiber construction to eliminate bends in the carbon fiber strands which removes unnecessary material, while leaving a reinforced sidewall that allow these lightweight rims to have impressive impact resistance, stiffness, and overall strength. The hookless inner rim shape also provides excellent support for the sidewalls of the tires, and the inner rim width and profile increases the tire’s air volume which will provide better rider comfort, improved flat prevention, and the tire will stay glued to the ground better over rough surfaces and through corners for more predictable traction and bike control. Giant’s unique Dynamic Balanced Lacing Pattern connects the hubs to these incredible rims with 24 Bladed Sapim CX-Ray stainless steel spokes and lightweight alloy nipples, and the combination work together to boost lateral stiffness, improve aerodynamics, and reduce the rotational weight for wheels with snappy acceleration and an easier time tackling elevation changes.

As for the hubs, the hub shells are a proprietary Giant Centerlock Disc design crafted out of lightweight alloy. Filling these hub shells are low friction sealed bearings and a 30t Ratchet System in the rear wheel, for low rolling resistance, quick rear hub engagement, and minimal required maintenance. When you combine these hubs, spokes, and rims together, the result is an aerodynamic, light, and strong wheelset that will make it easier for the rider to set personal best times wherever they ride.
