The Perfetto RoS 2 is the jacket that does everything perfectly. If you look closely, the Perfetto RoS 2 is a long-sleeved version of the Gabba RoS 2. So is it just a warmer Gabba? Not exactly. The long sleeves turn it completely into a jacket, but a jacket that covers a wide range of conditions. As in the Gabba, the RoS label indicates that it excels in dry conditions thanks to its high breathability as well as in wet conditions thanks to Castelli’s exclusive GORE-TEX INFINIUM WINDSTOPPER fabrics. There is a lightweight, water-resistant fleece-lined version on the front surfaces and a lighter, more stretchy fabric on the back that maximizes breathability while providing excellent water repellency. The Perfetto RoS 2 Jacket insulates you from cold winds and is much more breathable than the typical polyurethane membranes used on most jackets that try to compete with the Perfetto. When you stay drier, you don’t need as many layers. The nice thing about this jacket is that it doesn’t have built-in insulation, so you can use it paired with a thin base layer in mild conditions while with Ladding an insulating layer (a thermal shirt or L’Alpha 2nd Layer by Castelli) will be great for cold temperatures. The choice is yours. The “2” in the name refers to the latest version’s updates, including a top- and bottom-opening YKK Vislon zip for greater ventilation regulation. LThe reflective insert on the back is more visible, the seam on the upper part of the shoulder has been moved to the back and the three pockets are more spacious. While Perfetto maintains a snug fit, the new model offers a little more comfort on the chest, shoulders and biceps. The jacket that should not be missing from every cyclist’s arsenal.
