In their relentless pursuit of aerodynamics, comfort, and efficiency, Zipp has revamped the 454 NSW Tubeless Disc Brake Road Wheel to make them stronger and even better performing than their predecessor. At the center of the wheel is a brand new lightweight ZR1 SL hub that is packed full of ceramic bearings that not only are light, the ceramic bearings will improve long term durability and have significantly less rolling resistance than comparable steel cartridge bearings. The rear SRAM XDR or Shimano Road HG freehubs utilize a proven and robust 6-pawl driving mechanism with 66 points of engagement, allowing for efficient and rapid forward propulsion. Lightweight Sapim CX-Ray spokes fill the gap between the rim and the hubs, and these premium bladed stainless steel spokes assist in improving aerodynamics, comfort, durability, and overall performance.

While the center of the 454 NSW Wheel is impressive, the rim is where these wheels truly shine. Zipp started by revising the layup of the unidirectional carbon fibers to infuse extra strength into the rims without adding weight. The unique Sawtooth rim profile, Hyperfoil Nodes, HexFin ABLC dimple pattern, and hookless sidewall profile combine to create more stability in crosswinds and slide through the air so easily that the difference can be felt and measured in real world riding conditions. A 23mm inner rim width works with the hookless design to reduce tire deflection and rolling resistance as well as increase the air volume for improved flat protection, a smoother ride, and improved traction especially through corners and over rougher tarmac. Add everything up and these lightweight all around wheels have the comfort, performance, and durability to exceed the expectations of the most discerning cyclists.

Notes: The max recommended system weight of these wheels (weight of the bicycle, rider, and anything else on the bike when riding) is 250lbs (114 KG). Maximum aerodynamic benefits are with 28mm wide tires, but will accept 28-35mm wide hookless rim compatible tires.
